Jesus: I Speak to You Again
Chapter 52
The Body and the Personality
The Supreme Mind of Creation is the Source of Wisdom. If you do not seek greater wisdom, you do not deepen your mind, and as a result, you do not grow as a person. While your physical body may grow and develop, your mind can fall behind, unable to match the beauty and maturity of your physical form. You must understand that creation is a finely-tuned, masterfully designed system. Every smaller element of creation is connected to the whole, just as the whole is connected to its smaller elements. A system only exists when three or more elements are interconnected into one unified whole.
Your true self includes a spiritual gift that you have received from the Father—your personality. This is the real “you,” the part of you that is meant to express itself through love, goodness, truth, and mercy, all while serving others in the physical world. However, your material body, the vehicle through which you express your inner self, is temporary. Your inner self has the potential to be eternal, but only if you discover the spirit of the Father within you. The physical body, on the other hand, cannot last forever. The material energy that forms your body consists of low-frequency vibrations that eventually wear out and must change into another form. When the body can no longer sustain the higher energy vibrations that give it life, it disintegrates, and its particles drop to lower frequencies. The energy that once sustained life in the body moves on to another form that cannot maintain the previous physical existence.
However, while your body is sustained by higher energy vibrations, your inner self should recognize that your physical body, your true self, and the Father are all interconnected within a system where each element is mutually related.
The Father gives each of you the gift of personality—your spiritual and eternal self. The Eternal One can only give what is also eternal, for He is the Source of Eternity. Therefore, for your true self to fully express its character and brilliance, it must have a form in which to do so. This form is your material or physical body. Yet, this body is not your true self—it is merely the outer shell that carries your inner self.
