Jesus: I Speak to You Again
Chapter 61
My New Command to You
I have already given you what may seem at first to be a very difficult command: to free yourselves from the dead rituals and dogmas of the church and to seek and discover the living Father within your own selves, each of you. This command applies to all of you, including the priests.
When the priests themselves discover the Father within, they will see how much light fills their souls. This light will no longer be able to fit within the rigid framework of dead rituals and dogmas, the showiness and theatricality, or the rules and laws imposed by the church hierarchy. These priests will begin to breathe with their liberated souls, feeling the Father’s love instead of being driven by their pragmatic egos seeking personal gain. This new rhythm of breathing will be completely different from what they knew before. Then, the priest will lead the prayer service as a living spiritual guide, one who unites the open souls of the believers into the vast family of God in spirit, rather than merely following the established rituals.
As this happens, even souls burdened with anguish and suffering will begin to calm and feel a desire to communicate with such a priest. They will feel the spiritual vibrations emanating from the priest’s soul, reaching their own troubled souls and encouraging them to open further.
It is this kind of transformation in the priests that will bring souls back to the church. But until that transformation happens, the church will face a long period of desertion.
The Father’s spirit touches everyone, whether or not they attend church. Those who go to church may experience moments of their soul opening up there. However, once a person begins to feel bliss within their soul, they will want to prolong that feeling. They will long for a spiritual connection with those around them, a mutual exchange of spiritual energy, much like the love they feel toward others. But the dominance of ritual in prayer services—whether in Christian churches or others—prevents such a relationship from forming.
Eventually, a believer may begin to feel disillusioned because they cannot maintain this spiritual bond on their own, without receiving a response from others. They will sense an emptiness, a lack of spiritual fullness. Though they may continue to attend church out of a sense of duty or willpower, fewer and fewer will attend these lifeless services.
Many of you will begin to hear of living churches, where true spiritual connection thrives.
