Jesus: I Speak to You Again
Chapter 22
What is God?
The time has come for all to understand that what we refer to as God is, in essence, the Supreme Consciousness, which also encompasses Divine Consciousness. This Divine Consciousness is, at the same time, the Universal Consciousness. Together, these form what we call the Absolute Consciousness, which is the very concept of God. It is the Source of love and wisdom, a Personal Source who, as a personality, can create other personalities to engage with, building dynamic and multifaceted relationships while governing all creation.
In order for the Absolute Consciousness to actively participate in the workings of creation, it must differentiate into both Universal Consciousness and Divine Consciousness. The Universal Consciousness encompasses the non-living aspects of creation — what we perceive as physical matter, whether solid, liquid, or gas. The Divine Consciousness, on the other hand, encompasses the living elements — the essence of the soul and the manifestation of spirit. The Absolute Consciousness refers to the part of creation that will emerge in the future, continuing throughout eternity and infinity. Together, these three types of consciousness — universal, divine, and absolute — make up what we understand as God.
Only consciousness can love, possess personality, create, and understand. Anything that is less than consciousness does not belong to reality. Reality is made up of these three forms of consciousness — universal, divine, and absolute.
God is reality, which means consciousness is reality. Anything that lacks consciousness is not God and is therefore not real. It cannot exist in any way. Reality is what exists in the past, present, and future. Non-reality is what does not exist in any of those times. There is no such thing as a “real” non-reality, because the Absolute Consciousness — God — encompasses everything, leaving nothing outside its grasp. This means there is no room for something that does not exist.
Everything that exists is in motion, constantly operating within the Consciousness, and nothing can exist outside of its boundaries. Everything is sustained by, and operates within, this Consciousness.
